I read that too, it says they are old US Army cars, they have friction bearings though so I suspect they won't be rolling anywhere. Sounds like they are looking for someone with a large truck and some cutting torches.

Anybody have any width, height and weight specs on these? Might be worth trucking a couple out at that price.

They are on www.railswap.org

I believe that these cars were listed on the DRMO site http://www.drms.dla.mil/ about two months ago. If these are the same cars, they may be of the same group that I saw being rebuilt by an outside contractor at the former Reading RR. erecting shop in (approx) 1991. The rebuilding removed the roofwalk and cut down the ladders, repainted them from their original grey to a solid white, with reflectors on the sides. As pictured on the DRMO site, they appeared basically as they emerged from this rebuilding.
