Post subject: Santa Fe Depots

Just got back on a trip from Ft. Worth to Lubbock by car. In Snyder I saw a Santa Fe depot unlike any I've ever seen. It wasn't particularly large or distinguishable by virtue of it's layout but the architecture is totally different from any other SF depots (or any others) I've seen. And, there is a virtually identical one in Post, just up the road from Snyder.
I will post a photo when I get my film developed. In the interim, does anyone know about these depots? Were there any others like them? Why are they so different from Santa Fe's otherwise fairly consistent samll depot designs?
Thanks.
Four Santa Fe depots were constructed in 1911 with the special terra cotta design you saw in Post and Snyder, Texas. There were sister depots at Sweetwater and Lubbock.
An architect by the name of Louis Curtiss designed these. Other examples of his work are extant in Joplin, Mo., and Ada, Okla.
