Post subject: Location of Coudersport & Port Allegany records?
PostPosted: Sat Mar 03, 2001 9:08 pm

Recently I learned that the original mechanical department records from the Coudersport & Port Allegany Railroad in northern Pennsylvania were transferred around 1964-65 from the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum in Denton Hill, Pa., to another local museum or historical society believed to be in New York state, not far from the Museum, which is close to the PA-NY state line. Dolores Buchsen, Director of the PA Lumber Museum cannot recall to whom the records were sent, nor do their collections records document the transfer.

Can anyone shed light on where these records were subsequently deposited and if they can be accessed today? Allan Martin, Restortation Manager at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania is looking for documentation to aid in the restoration of the Museum's c.1892 C&PA snowplow and would appreciate any information provided. Thanking you in advance!
