Anyone having info on Dewey Brothers of Goldsboro NC and their locomotive production , please contact me via E-mail...they seem
to have produced a fair number of locos for such a small shop yet I have been unable to find any real information on them. From
what little I've read they may have built a couple hundred
units of a geared/industrial nature by 1915-1920 and then sort of faded away as the demand slacked off.
Are there any existing units today ? Rumors ? Lost Locos ?
Bill
J. David Conrad's "Directory of North American Steam Locomotives" (1988) does not list any being built by Dewy Bros Machine Works; to the best of my knowledge, none have surfaced since.
-James Hefner
