The most recent R&LHS Newsletter [Vol. 19, No.2] has an article or editorial on the misinformation promulgated through the Internet about the recent discovery of a turntable pit in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Seems the original publishers of the information got their facts wrong and so did everyone else who broadcast the find. Basically, no one checked their facts! What do you say RyPN?
[To be fair to the RyPN Web meister, he got his info from an article in a local (i.e. New Mexico) rail historical newsletter. The bad assumption was made they knew what they were talking about.]
By the way, the turntable pit was used by the Santa Fe Central (later New Mexico Central) and not by the D&RGW.
