Het Pat,

Charlie Reynolds went up. I was talking to him last night, he said "anything that has wheels that can turn over ran."

Climax (with new boiler), Heisler, 2-4-2, 0-4-0, Railbus, and diesel were all running.

http://photos.nerail.org/show/?byrail:1 ... in_Central - First two shots are from this weekends event; As you can see Iowa wasn't the only place to find triple-header steam this past Saturday. Mean while, just up the road, the Conway Scenic held their own Railfan weekend that featured former CN #7470. I didn't even know of the Clark's Railfan Day till Saturday morning, in North Conway. Even with the idea of seeing four engines looming, we stuck with the CSRR for the morning, before heading home. In all a pretty good event and was able to walk away with some good images.

With CSRR, Clark's, and the Cog, there is plenty of action to keep a steam fan occupied.

I've never heard anyone lament that they were stuck at Conway Scenic before!

Good point! ;-)

Actually I had to get back to work that afternoon, so we were sort of captive as to how far we could go; But defiantly a place I didn't mind being stuck at! We were only able to follow one of the excursions to Conway (with CNR #7470) before heading home, but most of what I wanted to accomplish took place during the morning at North Conway. My main photography goal for the day was to get some human interest shots and no-one on the CSRR had any trouble with a camera 'in their face'. They were also very good about letting us move in close when they were working (turning the engine, switching, dumping ashes etc.). Accomplished allot in the few hours we had and burned almost two-rolls of Kodacrome (a film that is becoming just 'historic' as the subjects being exposed on it)
