There other day I was pondering museum situations and setups as I was railfanning and this question arose: Are there museums out there that own more than one building that are not situated near each other (i.e. in another town)? The Minnesota Transportation Museum maintains major operations at five or six completely different sites, some of them separated by dozens of miles. Their website offers full details about the range of their facilities and operations.<p>On a lesser note, the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum manages the Baltimore Civil War Museum across town (located in the former President Street Station) under contract to the city. The East Troy Electric Railroad Museum maintains buildings at both ends of its line, in the towns of East Troy and Mukwonago, Wisconsin. There is a carbarn and station at each location, which are about 6 miles apart.<br> jftrolley@aol.com |

The San Diego Railroad Museum ownes and operates the La Mesa Depot and the Campo Depot - maybe 45 miles apart. I can be done.<br> bigjiml@home.com |
