Post subject:  Re: GP-7 GP-9 rollcall

West Chester RR operating former PRR West Chester branch between West Chester and Glen Mills has ex-B&O GP9 No. 6499. IIRC it came to WCRR as Ohio Central No. 99. The branch is owned by SEPTA and leased to the Borough of West Chester which sub-leases it to WCRR.

When SEPTA took over commuter service in the Philadelphia area it received two former PRR GP9s No. 7019 and No. 7028. These were later renumbered Nos. 90 and 91. They were later sold, sometime in the 90s IIRC, but I'm not sure where they ended up. Anybody remember seeing them?

I'm surprised that these two units from Utah have not been mentioned:
SP 3769, at the Utah State Railroad Museum, stripped on donation for display (no prime movers, no traction motors, all doors welded shut). The lowdown is on the museum roster I wrote a few year back: http://theunionstation.org/museums/utah-state-railroad-museum/spencer-s-eccles-rail-center/

And Utah Central Railway 201, chop nose, ex-Rarus Railway (beyond that I have no other information), still in use as a captive switcher at the Business Depot Ogden industrial park. Image

Utah Central Railway 201, chop nose, ex-Rarus Railway 201 began life as Western Maryland 44.

It is one of only three surviving Western Maryland 1st generation geeps. The other two are
GP9s 25 and 39, both owned by George's Creek Railway.

An update, there are now three GP9s in Utah. Heber Valley Historic Railroad purchased former Great Western 296, nee-Union Pacific, from a now-defunct museum in Boulder Colorado. On April 29 2017 it made its first revenue run after years of static display.

In contrast, the latest photo of FTRX #205 was taken in 5/17 in Toledo, OH (with the ex-CBRY #206, as FTRX #206, and repainted blue), and this #205 is clearly the ex-CBRY #205.
