Ted -

I agree that the tenders are not the same. Here is a photo:

This tender on GN 4-8-2 #2523 looks remarkably similar to the tender at St. Louis MOT. Might the MOT tender be from another Great Northern 4-8-2?

Andrew,

In the last photo of the black P&R tender, I noticed the open hopper car next to it. Do you have (or know of) any photos of this hopper? I'm asking because there's always the chance this hopper has not been included in the "Open Top Two Bay Hopper Roll Call" thread.

Ted, I'll post this on the other thread as well, but for now...

Andrew,

Thanks for the links! According to the RCT&HS page, this is #60097/#66418, "a rare class HTs or HTss, which began life as a composite (wood-sided) car during the steel shortages of WWII." I checked my notes taken from the "Two Bay Hopper Roll Call" thread, and this car was already mentioned. RCT&HS owns this car and a Class HT-c hopper, #63321.

Ted -

Thanks for the info, but to keep the record straight, the hopper coupled next to the Philadelphia & Reading tender is an offset side hopper, probably the 63321, The cars that were originally composite (wood sided) cars had side ribs and the car in the photo Andrew referenced obviously does not.

Cross-posting into here, here's the thread started the other day with a few more tenders listed: http://www.rypn.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=42713
