Post subject:  100th Anniversary of the Wellington Disaster

I attended an event commemerating the 100th Anniversary of the Wellington Disaster. It was held at Skykomish, WA and the attendence exceeded the museums hopes. They were planning on about 150 people, and estimates are that 450 people showed up.

Quote:
The Skykomish Historical Society is sponsoring a program honoring those who were a part of this nation's worst avalanche disaster, the Wellington Slide. Relatives of those who were there, local authors and historians will gather for a prgram honoring the 100 year anneversary of the event. The pulbic is encouraged to ...attend. The museum will be open at 11AM with the program beginning at 1PM.

The event was quite interesting and informative, and I'm glad I went. I've posted some photos of the event over at http://www.railroadforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=31855
