I was wondering the current status of P-2 class
4-8-2 GN 2507. I know it is sitting in a train yard in Pascoe, WA. The original group that barged it up the Columbia from its display location evidently went broke. Is it still in good
condition? Does any group plan to restore it at this time? I don't know of any operating Great Northern steam locomotives anywhere right now.
I'm not sure what plans there are for the 2507, but you are right about there being no operating GN steam locomotives. However, there is at least one undergoing restoration, H-5 Pacific no. 1355 is being restored in Sioux City, Iowa. Last I heard, she may be back in steam in a couple of years.
