Another car from Wil Hata's website.

470. Plan #3410 12S-1DR now located at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, Falcon Heights, MN, painted as Royal American Shows #35

Problem is, RAS's all-steel Pullman heavyweights were in the #50-#77 range. But, it could be that this report of it being #35 is actually a transposition of #53, which is listed by Briggs as a 12S-1DR.

2. 10/04/15 photo of the car, after having been moved and repainted, note that a car number is no longer visible, but that the KarTrak ACI barcode was retained during the repaint: https://www.flickr.com/photos/23711298@N07/22407441281 (Earl C. Leatherberry photo)

This car never arrived at the IRM property in Union, IL. It's not impossible that it was owned by the museum for a time and stored off-site, but I placed an inquiry with the IRM General Manager at the time and he has no recollection of the car at all. It seems likely to me that IRM's involvement is simply an error.

Thanks, Frank!

Perhaps the RITS info is based on the car's owner at the time having considered IRM as one of several options for donation, but that plans then changed...not the first time that has happened, a car rumored to have gone to one museum but in actuality going in a completely different direction.

As posted on this forum by Mike Pannell in January 2018: http://www.rypn.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=41592

473. Plan #2410 12S-1DR to unknown to "Great Northern Subs & Espresso" (location unknown?) (19??) later to storage at undisclosed/unknown location somewhere in Washington State (19??)

Given the name of the business and this car's location, as well as information posted at the time, it does seem most likely that this car went to GN, but no further into including any/all later MofW numbers were included.

Regarding the same car, in the Surviving Passenger Cars group on Facebook, Mike also mentioned that he believes that this car (and the ex-CB&Q or ex-NP wood coach behind it) are both for sale.

Correction: additional info from the above same Facebook group indicates that the green-painted wood coach is actually ex-SP&S #214.

2 More Survivors & A Correction:

A combination of info taken from Herman Page's listings and a discussion in the Surviving Passenger Cars group on Facebook.

479. New Orleans (Lot #4997, Plan #3958, 1926, 14S, Panama Limited)--sold to U.S. Air Force and rebuilt to B-52 simulator car DAFX #18 (1962) to U.S. Space & Rocket Center, Huntsville, AL (19??)

480. Island Charm (Lot #6273, Plan #3973A, 1929, 10S-1DR-1C, CRI&P)--renamed Capricho (1956-1957)--sold to U.S. Air Force and rebuilt to B-52 simulator car DAFX #27 (1962) to U.S. Space & Rocket Center, Huntsville, AL (19??)

These 2 cars were listed with their Pullman names in Herman Page's Pullman list of July 1999. In a discussion in the Surviving Passenger Cars group in November 2018, group owner Jacob Carey had reported that there were 2 DAFX cars at the Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, visible on satellite imagery. I recently looked at the imagery myself, and can confirm this. The ID's weren't given at that time, but it matches what Page had listed. (These 2 cars are not at the main part of the campus directly off of the highway, but are off to the side on another section of the property, and are reportedly used as office space during the space camps.)

That same discussion had also previously ID'ed other surviving DAFX cars #13 (ex-Wild Rose), #31 (ex-John M. Forbes), #17* (ex-Chief Red Wolf), and #7 (ex-Andrew Squire) (line items #277, #392, #444, and #445).

*A slight correction, I had misidentified the DAFX #17 as the ex-Chief Wolf Robe in the 6th post on page #39 of this thread in April 2019. (The info regarding Lot and Plan remains the same.)

481. Plan #2410 12S-1DR to unknown to "The Inside Track" gift boutique, Eureka, CA (19??) to Timber Heritage Association and stored near Eureka (19??)

I had known of this car being in Eureka as recently as the mid-1980's due to the photo linked below, but I hadn't included it in this thread before, as several searches for any more recent photos or info had come up empty. I only recently came across a report in a Facebook group detailing that this car was indeed still extant.

Mystery/"Where Is It Now?" Car:

Another car from Wil Hata's website.

Plan #3585 10S-1DR-2C located in Jacksonville, FL, as of 1987, and lettered as SCL "Orange Blossom Special".

This car hasn't come up in this thread before now, neither as a mystery car, or as one whose current status was a question. Given the location and lettering, it is likely that this was a former ACL or SAL owned car, but that's not a guarantee either.
