Like the title say; where is Chessie 29? From the website http://www.piedmontsub.com/Other.shtml,
"Chessie 29 was the business car of the C&O’s president. It was rebuilt from a 5DBR/lounge car in 1952. In late 1969 it was sold to a Pittsburgh businessman. When I found it, Chessie 29 was at the Station Square Mall in Pittsburgh. Shortly after I took this photo, it was moved. According to Matt Cesare the car has been moved to Myoma, PA where it is sitting next to a bronze factory along the Buffalo & Pittsburgh. (1999 photo)"

Myoma is between Callery and Mars on the former B&O, nee-Pittsburgh & Western. For being less than 30 miles from downtown Pittsburgh, it looks like an excellent place to "hide" a car or body.

This Google Maps Satellite view shows a VERY likely suspect:
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Myoma,+PA ... 3&t=h&z=18

It's at the south end of a building owned by/run as Concast Metal Products, which is indeed an alloy-casting corporation based in Mars, Pa.: http://www.concast.com/ . Of course, we can't verify if it's the same car or how recent the satellite view is, but the fit is about 99%.

I'll leave it to those with vested interests in this car to go pester the corporation itself.

Went on Bing maps and used the "Birdeye View" and it sure is Chessie 29.

I hope Amtrak doesn't get a look at that striping and get any crazy ideas!

They could train-mark it (Get it? Train...Mark! Hahaha...) and have their very own "Disco Train"

Perhaps someone here can confirm or deny, but I believe this is the private car owned by Glen Campbell of Bessemer 643 fame / infamy. When Station Square underwent major renovations in the early 2000's the vast majority of the equipment stored and displayed there ended up elsewhere. The only cars left there are two coaches, a caboose, and one very heavily vandalized hot metal car.

I saw the caboose this summer from a distance. Is the hot metal car still there?

Hot metal car is still there, just a stone's throw east down the track, under the Panhandle Bridge right along the bike trail.
