Requesting Any Information on this Baldwin http://www.sterlingrail.com/classifieds/classified.php?id=1134 its overal history? boiler condition? overall condition? How complete is it? last known operation? current location? anyone know the asking price? any information would be tremendous |

Wasn't this already sold to a private individual over the the couple months or so? I thought I heard it was to leave Cass soon. |

It was sold to a private party...it was pulled off the deadline last fall, and moved to the C&O tracks for future shipment to it's new owner. From what I read on the classifieds, it would appear that the buyer is looking to turn around, and sell the 612 as is, on site. |

The 612 looks no worse than the US Army 611, the poppet-valve equipped 2-8-0 which the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum sold a few years ago. At least 612 has a tender, I don't think I ever saw 611's tender during its' stay at TVRM, but then again I'm sure a lot of parts were in storage as well. It would be nice to see the 612 at least find a good home for a cosmetic restoration. |
