It's Pittsburg, KS (no Steel City h). Note Illinois Railway Museum misidentified as Illinois Railroad Museum.

Not the worst typo or wrong description I've seen given. Sometimes it's funny to read a story a journalist has written on a subject they aren't familiar with.

"Journalist" my derriere! I believe the article is nothing but "search engine candy" for asbestos/mesothelioma. That is the hottest keyword in the entire world of paid web advertising. http://www.cwire.org/2006/03/23/updated ... -keywords/

I deal with search engine spam for a living. It's appalling. This kind of stuff is so prevalent and so well SEO'ed (manipulated to rank high in search engines) that you can hardly find anything good anymore.

any local model railroad clubs? Form a group to help preserve the engine.

A handful of volunteers with some aluminum roof flashing and stainless steel wire or a large hose clamp could get that stack covered in less than 30 minutes. A few weekends with some wire brushes, paint and hard wax grease could work minor miracles in preservation. Are any locals interested ? Will the city allow it ?
