Post subject: Train Order Board

Hello - Back before the "Great Interchange
Crash", I posted a request for help in loca-
ting a train order board for our new replica-
ted wood frame depot then under construction.
The depot is now about 99.5% complete and we
have been successful in securing a train
order board post to go in front of the depots
bay window. Unfortunately, the "semaphore"
parts of this board were mostly missing. The
board comes from the Monroe, Wisconsin depot
of the Illinois Central Railroad. From the
little research I have done (mostly from pix
in Jim Boyd's Book on the IC "Monday Morning
Rails", it appears that the IC used a unique
lower quadrant type order board for their
stations and towers. Is there anyone out
there who can help our museum (the Hoosier
Valley Railroad Museum in North Judson, IN)
in securing two "semaphores" of the CORRECT
TYPE for our depot. Also for your info, we
also received a donated set of train order
board desk mounted train order board levers
for the inside of the depot which we intend
to use with this order board to make it fully operational.
Any help anyone can furnish us will be very
much appreciated! Thanks!!
Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum
P. O. Box 75
North Judson, Indiana 46366
(or post a reply here in Interchange!)
