Well, two of the three surviving Rohr Turboliners were recently moved from Bear, Delaware to North Brunswick, New Jersey where they will reportedly be used for emergency responder training and then scrapped. The third set may be scrapped on site at Bear. I took these photos from aboard NJ Transit trains last month. I think it'd be a shame if none of these unique trains are preserved, but alas, maybe the best I can do is preserve them in photos.

Unfortunately, the time for a turbo save has passed. The UA’s or Rohr’s would have been cool. These trainsets would be nothing more than a monument to mismanagement (at best).

Don’t get me wrong, I loved riding in all the turbo’s, but saving one now is too little, too late.

There’s another complication: complete trainsets don’t fare too well in preservation. Look at all the Zephyrs and Aerotrains awaiting someone with interest and deep pockets. For every piece in good shape, there are two or three languishing.

That's a shame, but maybe I'll at least try to snap a few more photos of 'em before they're gone. At least I managed to get a few shots when they were still in good shape, including these from a trip with my little brother.
