I have serious doubts about this as they need to spend millions of dollars to make the place ready and move and fix up equipment.
I would say a safe bet would be 5 years from now....if they are still around.

I wish them luck, it is hard enough to keep a museum open in this economy let alone start one. From the article it sounds like they have a good start, decent member count, property, plan, board, and a nest egg. One thing to their advantage and to their benefit, they are going to cover the full line of ALCo manufacturing, not only the locomotives, so that will open doors not available to the rest of us in RR museums.

Wish I was closer, but will keep them in mind when I get up in the area.
