This might be of some interest:

These were part of the Allen Schurman collection near Woodland, Washington. Allen unfortunately passed some time ago, and most the collection is up for auction.

There's no sign of the running gear

Reference an earlier post in this thread from March 2018 by California Machinist regarding the locomotives.

Having personally visited the shop where the work is being being done, expect a first rate restoration on both locomotives.

I just stumbled across this, and had no idea of it before today:

I'd love to know if that shade of OD green is correct...

I suspect it likely is, or at least it's closer to correct than the khaki that looks like it came off a humvee that the one at Fort Benning is wearing. If I recall correctly, they had a historian that they worked with on some aspects of the rebuild... What aspects they consulted on I don't know, but Hayden Seybold would know better as he oversaw the work.

Some more material on this engine, including a video history of the engine and its restoration.

I am quite interested in the cars and trucks. Anyone have any idea on who built those?

In addition to some details on the cars, anyone have info on the Winton air pump on the locomotive?

Hello All. I found this thread while searching for information about locomotive #2967, and decided to join the group so I could post this photo of my wife's grandfather riding in it.

The writing on the back of the photo simply says "Rudy in Byron's train - Creston", alas, no date, but based on info I've read here and other places (and just looking at the pic) it was certainly prior to 1960.

As far as I know, her grandfather was never a train engineer, and I believe he lived about 50 miles from Creston most of his life.

Perhaps this doesn't add much to the thread, but I hope you find it at least interesting.
