What became of this nice looking little 2-4-0 steam engine? Just curious.

So, you poked my curiosity. I don't know anything about the Laurel Highlands. A Google search retrieves an amateur site hosted on Tripod that appears to date from year 2000. Are we really that old? And with such loud background music too!

Yes, a very attractive pocket steamer. Where are you?

Now located at Heritage Park, McDonough, Georgia. From the Henry County, GA, Parks & Recreation web page:

http://www.co.henry.ga.us/ParksRecreation/Parks_HeritagePark.shtml

"1934 Steam Engine Locomotive
This H.K. Porter Steam Engine and tenders, Tank 0-4-0 locomotive is similar to "Old No. 7," was added as a memento of the County's ties to railroading and the County's worst train wreck at Camp Creek, around the turn of the 20th century, 1900. This locomotive was built in 1933 and operated at the Western Pennsylvania Yards in Connellsville, Pennsylvania until the 1950s. It was one of the last of its kind to be built that operated off of steam. Coal fueled the fire in its boilers. In Pennsylvania, this train was nicknamed the "Highlander," but to the people of Henry County, it's the "Old #7" once again!"

...and its still wearing the same green and gold paint it did when in PA on the LH... I remember seeing photos of it trundling along with a couple ex-CNJ coaches still in Blue and Yellow of the Commuter years.

If I am not mistaken, wasn't this operation over the trackage of the current Fayette Central?

h that thing. Wasn't it also on the Buckeye Scenic for a while and then the PL&W when they were running excursions on the Youngstown & Southern?

The "Laurel Highlands RR " ran in Scottdale Pa on the former "pennsy' line from
radabaugh (?) near Greensburgh to Connellsville, also on the former "B&O' from
broadford near Connellsville to what was the Sony plant near New Stanton,
the tracks crossed on a diamond in Everson pa.
The Fayette Central runs on the former B&O FM&P track that goes from Connellsville to Smithfield, the rest of the track to Point Marion was removed
in the late 80's I think.
Number 7 was a 0-4-0 saddel tank when it used by the West Penn trolley line
in the Connellsville power plant in the 40's.
There are a few video tapes of it running in Scottdale in the 90's
