Who would pay more that the replacment cost of the few usable panels, for that thing?

For $20,000 you should get the boiler backhead with it.

Do you know how significant this is? In Great Britian they would look at that and say, "We have enough parts to start the rebuild nowl." :)

when you put some thought to it, first of all it is the real cab from the engine, 100% vintage and official. The next thought is how cool would it to be placed at the entry of your model railroad club. Next up, Kelly etc is working on the Headwaters Junction, that is perfect for an entryway, Fort Wayne was also pivital for the Pennsylvania Railroad, so it fits perfectly. If the FWRHS can snatch it, they should.
But yeh, you can grab metal and form your own cab whatever and do it far cheaper.

Too bad we don't have the full engine.

"Too bad we don't have the full engine."

Next month's auction.

But really, for the price of scrap only, this should be preserved or donated as tax write-off. It's a neat piece, only one other I know of from a Pennsy locomotive. I'd like to know how it got saved from destruction in the 1950's?

It does say "Or Best Offer". The person selling seems to own a business so if someone is really interested, maybe the tax write off would be a good suggestion!

I saw this a few weeks ago, it's a nice relic and it's hard to believe it survived the PA elements all these years.
