Heads up, but the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum in Portland, ME will be running their forney, Monson Railroad No. 4, on all regular services. The museum is open 10-3 Saturday and Sunday. No. 4 is a 1918 product of the Vulcan Locomotive Works, and has seen a stint at Edaville for many years before the majority of the stock from the original incarnation moved to Portland in the 1990s. I look forward to riding behind it tomorrow and possibly chasing it on foot by using the parralell bike trail. |

There is also a guest engineer program starting up. You will spend the day operating #4 and learning all aspects of operation. Right now the dates for this are 7/14, 8/18, 9//8, 10/13. $500 and you get an engineers cap! If you ever wanted to yank the levers of a steamer this is your chance!!! Bob |
