Happy 72nd Ross, after your post of a few days ago, I just couldn't resist.

Image

Original concept credited to DeeDee Bruce of Eagle Rock, VA who has been doing actual flamingo flocking of many friends for several years now. I toyed with the idea of actually setting this one up as a new photo shoot using the nearly 100 plastic flamingos which DeeDee and her sister own, but opted for this photoshop version which time wise was much more efficient. This was completed within 20 minutes using the original 614 twilight photo, which I shot for Ross, back in November after 614's paint job was completed in Clifton Forge.

Are those real flamingos or are they photo shopped in? I think the pink may be the wrong color they look too bright to be real flamingos. Not to mention the insurance issues that it creates letting them that close to the locomotive, next pigeons will want to sit on top of it. Can any of this damage be undone? This is just wrong in so many ways.

Happy Birthday Ross!!!

BWAAAAAA HAAAAAA HAAAAAAA!!!!!!!

They must be photo shopped because see how they're standing? One leg has to be bent for them to be real flamingos. They must have put an air compressor off camera somewhere to make them look like they were moving. They don't have the "glint" in their eyes either that would prove beyond a doubt that they were really moving.

Happy Birthday Ross!!!!! I look forward to chuckin some coal for you again soon.

Good grief man, you can't have that many flamingoes in one place without FAA approval! I hope you filed a form 2472 prior to the flocking...

Happy Birthday Ross, hope it's a good one, and here's to many more!

I wish you as many more birthdays as you like.
My only disappointment on your special day is that I didn't wake up in time to send this greeting earlier.

Happy Birthday sir Ross. I tip my hat to how much you've contributed to the preservation of steam and so much more. Don't let the 'toid bring you down, your name will always be synonymous with the great legends of steam! Here's to 72 years young!

...........and where did the flat spots on the drivers come from? Is that steam whisp real or was that Cottonwood fallout? Like the birthday greeting. Humor is good.

Happy birthday {if this is indeed the day, so many unexplained things you know}.

Cheers, John.

Now, how do you go birthday shopping for someone like Ross Rowland... Maybe a stop at the nearest machine shop is in order ;) Happy Birthday Ross!

Happy birthday Ross! I had no idea you and my father shared the same birthday. (He turned 70 today)
