Looks to be a very nice car. Those ACF-built UP cars seem to have held up well, especially when taken care of. I hope it finds a good home. |

This car was first listed on RailSwap on March 6, 2012. Description: Quote: 1949 ACF aluminum Ex-UP car currently configured as a 46 seat diner. The interior is mostly complete, with many of the kitchen appliances in place and operable. It has a Stadco 100kw gen set under it, good wheels and OSH trucks, central bearing center plates, TFM Disc brakes with decelostats. It has 345,000 miles on the trucks with the last PC-s being done in 2003 and a COT&S date of April 2010. In addition it has new buffer plates. Asking price is $250K obo. I believe the Facebook page referenced is actually a railfan page and not an official GBX posting. |

Facebook page now has disclaimer reading:"I'm no way connected to the GBX , I'm only a 16 year from Long Iland, NY.", Recent posts by myself and at least one other RYPN'er have been deleted.... But no matter how loud he decries his innocence, its HIM...the biggest "Shanerism" of all is still there, for all to see.... Jeff |

"Fan" pages like that make no sense to me. It only confuses people and really serves no purpose other than to irritate others. I guess some people get a really early start on being foamers of the curmudgeonly sort. In the internet age, those people get a voice anyway when in the past, the clubs would just turn their backs on them and they'd eventually fade away... Anyone willing to bet that by the age of 40, he'll still be living in his parent's basement (and will be able to recall sci-fi TV shows by air dates) and driving other train buffs nuts? |

Someone needs to teach that kid about respect and manners. Maybe he should spend less time on Facebook and more time on English homework. I hope Ross gives him a good run for his money. If I had ever talked like that to my elders I'd a had my backside beat. What a maroon...... I bet his parents are real proud.......which is good, because I agree with P51. No one will want to live with that mouth outside of his parents. |
