It's been 2 weeks. Has anything been removed or scrapped?

Nothing scrapped yet. Progress has been slow. Many parts have been removed from the S2 so far and will ensure that other 539 powered locomotives will continue on for more years to come. Its looking more like one of the passenger cars will come out intact. Possibly two. Still nothing finalized yet. Still opportunities for interested parties.

Weren't there two RS3's at one time? Only one today? Is any part of the ex-LIRR S1 being recovered?

The ex Long Island S1 is privately owned and being handled separately from the rest of the equipment and I cannot speak on its status. The other RS3 (ex B&M 1547/D&H 4082) was scrapped two years ago. It was nothing more than a shell with an engine block.

Found this photo of Albany Port Railroad #2 in happier days (1982)

then 2002:

and now:

Proof that if you are not caring for it, it is not "preserved".

Caboose and box car were hauled off to an unknown location last year. Got a couple of nice D&H Passenger cars that need a good home though;)

How suitable would the D&H coach be for restoration? How far gone is it?

Both of the Coaches; AC&F D&H Worlds fair coach 203 and the Osgood Bradley ex. Otter Valley/D&H/B&A commuter coach have strong points and weak points. Neither is too far gone for restoration to operation, but neither one is a cake walk either. Both cars have good wheels and truck components. The 203 has solid sides and frame, but needs crash post repair. Interior is disassembled and incomplete and it needs significant floor work in the restroom. It also has no windows. Biggest problem is the original brake lines were copper and they have been pilfered. Can be a great car if you have time, money and workforce to give it what it needs. It is also the last of its kind.

The ex B&A car has a fair body with some rust issues at the bottom of the side sills. Not too far gone, but a bunch of work to fix right. It also has no windows but the frames are still there. It still has most of its seat hardware.

Both cars can still be made available for preservation, but need to be moved soon (yesterday would be good).

^The RS3 pictured above was scrapped last week:

"I sadly report, all of the old equipment stored at the colonieyard, has been cut up. The former Delaware and Hudson RS3 that last served as Albany Port railroad. Is totally gone."
