Perhaps interesting to look at how the map artist portrayed the trains on display at item 22. Note the nose on the Train of Tomorrow's E7 (I can tell it's that by the consist and the radiators). And who would have guessed an M-1 was that short? ... ;-0

Merry Christmas!

There shouldn't be any problem. The link from my "signature" below works to the Rail Archive home page, and the RR Fair link is the 6th major link from the bottom of the page. You can click either the image or the title link. But here's the direct link to the RR Fair site: http://www.railarchive.net/rrfair/index.html.

I still can't access it. I can access your index page and enter some of your other pages but I keep getting an error saying my Internet explorer can't open the Rail Fair page. Any suggestions?

Steve

Does anyone else here have the same problem?

Steve, is your IE browser set to not open a page with scripts? There is a javascript on each page that controls the behavior of the navigation buttons. Do the buttons work on some of my other pages, i.e. if you go to the New York Central Collection and then click on one of the thumbnail images, does it open?

The main Rail Archive page does not have a script, and some of the pages linked from there also don't have scripts, but any page that is coded to open another page with a button has a script.

If the script is the problem and you can't fix it at your end, maybe I can create a special version of the site that has no scripts so you can view it. Any one else have suggestions about this? I would like the site to be viewable by all.

Another locomotive exhibit was courtesy of the U.S. Army; a captured Kriegslok. This was one of the BR 42 engines, heavier than the more common 52 class. It was based on the pre-war BR 44 which was a three cylinder engine. The 42 was a simplified, two cylinder austerity design.

I used Google Chrome also and it worked fine.

Must be some setting in my IE and Java script.

The error report from my Internet Explorer is as follows:

Very nice photos. Was this 1948 or 1949?

Steve -

I think I read somewhere that she was displayed in 1948 but not returned for the 1949 version due to the rather high freight charges incurred to move her to/from the museum. Maybe someone can confirm.

When I get more time I will organize my Dads' photos and see if he photographed this locomotive.

Any photos you can find will be of great interest. I copied the last two pages of your program book (pages 12-13).

Awesome. I have posted these pages in order, front to back. Lots more to come. If you wish, in my Whitcomb thread I posted photos from a book that I believe came from the fair. I found it among the fair literature. It is of the reconstruction of the French Railways after the destruction of WW II.
