Post subject: | Southern Railway Training Film for Saluda & A Santa Fe Film |
Came across this recently while looking for something else; Southern fans will enjoy the solid locomotive consists in the "tuxedo" scheme. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IABM8UPplY Reading between the lines, you can see why Saluda isn't in service today. At the same time, though, it would probably make a magnificent tourist operation, if somewhat challenging to run, especially with steam. This safety film from the Santa Fe has some graphic (with a dummy) scenes that remind me of how it was so easy to get hurt or killed in the days of hand brakes and link and pin couplers--and how it's still easy to get hurt or killed today if you're not on the ball. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFftm3bXNOs |
