Just curious, when did they start doing these tours?
I was stationed in Maryland in the late 90s in the Army and I used to go to Strasburg when I could. I always paid to ride but I never was aware of any shop tours. If they were doing them then, nobody ever mentioned them or had them noted on any written info for me to have ever known about them...

The regular shop tour was already awesome, this sounds even better.

If anyone's on the sitting on the fence, get off your butt and go!

Nice to see the Shameless Commerce Division of the Strasburg Rail Road is in full swing. Seriously, this is also a good educational opportunity.

It should be part of any tourist railroad with a shop facility of its own, though keeping visitors out of less dangerous areas is critical. Strasburg is like Grandma's kitchen. Always something wonderful cooking.
