Word is circulating on several PRR lists/forums that a demolition crew showed up Wednesday at the former Tony Citro's "Citro's 1900" restaurant in Wayne, NJ and made quick work of demolishing the entire property, including Erie wooden caboose 04927 and PRR parlor-observation Queen Mary, a "somebody should save that" and "most endangered" car that had been discussed frequently here over the past twelve or more years.

Apparently the Morristown & Erie was able to remove parts off of the Queen Mary before it was cut up. There were numerous holes cut into it on one side and the interior had been previously gutted when one of the (many) owners made it into a general dining area.

There were a few other pieces on the property that went to the Whippany Railway Museum. To my knowledge nothing was saved from the Erie caboose.

I find it really interesting how the man who created the first topic about 565 is the man who is currently leading the (presently stalled) cosmetic restoration of 565. Shows what can happen when you put your mind to something.
