Pennsylvania State Archives in Harrisburg, PA has many Baldwin records including order books. I don't know about the numbers you are asking about. You need to contact them directly.

Perhaps additional info may help find the order number-from the digital Collections of the DeGoyler Library Vol. 80 pg. 731

Are you looking for a Southern 2-8-2?

Don't know what 10stewi is looking for, but some interesting lokeys on this list. How about an Illinois Terminal 2-6-0 new in 1928? Or a Woodward Iron 0-4-0; I thought that outfit only had "big" engines? And what does the "E" signify after a few of these locomotives?

Thanks for the posting!

The "E" stands for Electric. At this time BLW assembled and tested most of the electric mine locos sold under the Baldwin-Westinghouse name. The bigger electrics were completed mechanically at BLW then shipped to the Westinghouse East Pittsburgh Works for installation of the electrical gear and track tests. A few larger locos were done at BLW, but as a rule WECo did those at E. Pgh. Mine locos didn't rate a track test at BLW, they were just run on a set of rollers.

Hey Austin,

Thanks for your submission! Unfortunately that was an order for two locomotives that were just plain old Southern locomotives. Its only an order of two because they were fitted with a tender booster on the second tender truck. Thanks for contributing your piece though!
