I posted this over on the Narrow Gauge Railroad Discussion Forum (NGDF) and thought that I would also share it here. I have a Southern Pacific Rules and Regulations dated January 1, 1898. technical advance over the stove in the corner, now you know where steam heat comes from to heat passenger trains. That took the car stove out, and probably a labor saver (again). Keeping tabs on several car heaters like this and a lot of cars on a passenger train and overnight service would make the car stove become the plate juggler on sticks on Ed Sullivan. |
