Hi, all:

Now that the museum is on winter hours and it's cooler (make that c-c-c-cold), our volunteers at the Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario have again been busy building track.

The current project is closing an approximately 600' gap in our Carshop Lead, which will allow all our rolling stock to reach the shop.

The grading and sub-ballasting were recently completed and the ties were laid this Tuesday... no doubt rail will be placed on the ties very soon- both to prevent them from growing legs and to permit winter construction, whenever weather permits.

Final ballasting of both the Carshop Lead and Mainline Realignment will be done next summer, once the rail is fully spiked.

Here are some older shots of the west end of the Carshop Lead:

The Carshop Lead connects to our recently completed Mainline Realignment at the east end of the museum property:

The first run over the Mainline Realignment was 18 June 2013:

Please bear with us, if the Fotki pages fail to load properly. They are working on their servers, causing some very frustrating service interruptions and photos that suddenly go missing.

Thanks,

Steve Hunter
