I just received an email stating that Lima no. 761, a three-truck Shay sold to Copper Belt Railway in Bingham Canyon, Utah, was in fact a canceled order for Guayaquil and Quito Railway no. 17, in Equador. It was built in April 1904. http://www.utahrails.net/utahrails/copp ... -locos.php Can anyone comment on this new information. There is supposedly a builder photo of G&Q no. 17. Do you have a web page address for that information? It is not part of the information on ShayLocomotives.com: http://www.shaylocomotives.com/data/lima/sn-761.htm Also, I just received a builder photo of s/n 761. It is plainly lettered for G&Q no. 17, and comparing external features, it certainly appears to be the same locomotive as Copper Belt no. 3 Don Strack |
