I wanted to thank you and the crew at NH&I for another great experience. For the second year now I`ve been able to catch a cab ride with you on #40 at Christmas time. You and Jeff and and I believe the other fireman`s name was Jamie, had #40 running great and as always made me feel welcome and couldn`t be any nicer. It was also nice to see a great crowd of young kids having a great time, hopefully some of them will grow up to be steam fans like me. Thanks again and Merry Christmas and can`t wait to do it again, Drew Young (the guy from Florida) |

It was a pleasure having you with us Drew and I'm glad you enjoyed the ride. Sitting here in our snug cottage in Sackets Harbor,NY on Christmas morning looking out on a landscape with EVERYTHING covered in 1/2 inch of ice and the temp. 6 degrees below zero, I'm thinking how fortunate we were to get through the Santa season on the railroad safely despite the weather challenges. Glad to report that ridership was very strong and that # 40 ran beautifully throughout!! Of the thousands of kids we carried, I'm confident that we gave birth to at least few future steam lovers!! Best wishes to all for a very Merry Christmas and a healthy, steam filled 2014 !! Ross Rowland |
