Just out of curiosity, Was L&N 1315 ever fixed after the roll over accident few years ago?

I seem to recall it happened just after they finished the restoration.

This was on their Facebook page from just about a year ago:

Last but not least, the mechanical department removed 1315's front truck today and put a shop truck in its place. This will permit careful inspection for derailment damage from the accident a couple years back and allow our mechanical department to replace the two wheelsets that were derailed. The goal is to have the truck ready to re-install the next time we have a big crane out for other work.

Anyone know if any work has been done on their Southern E8 #6913?

Again, from their Facebook page in August:

Since Hank has asked, here is the latest on 6913, our E-8. Frankly, it's been slow. Our focus over the past eight plus months has been on the equipment regularly assigned to the Secret City Scenic Excursion train. Our goal is improving appearance and reliability of the train we regularly use. Volunteers have made improvements to coach 829 and included it in the train, coach 664 got a bath and some paint work, the dining car is getting some interior wall panel work, and the commissary is getting some roof paint, electrical work, generator replacement, new diaphragm on the south end, and some minor truck adjustments. All in all, a LOT of work for a volunteer staff. With that said, we are continuing to gather parts and conduct fundraising, and do other minor work on the E-8. We are currently discussing priorities once the TLC has wrapped up on the excursion train and the E-8 is included in that discussion.

Unfortunately, 1315 is still on the dead line at Oak Ridge. Passenger car work has been the highest priority lately, but we are back to locomotive work this winter and 1315 is on the list of projects.
The Southern Appalachia Railway Museum Facebook page does a pretty good job of keeping folks up on projects.
