There have been a series of requests for proposals issued over the last few years for new passenger motive power, particularly by commuter rail operators, and quite a few contracts have been awarded. I am not aware of any proposals for new steam locomotive technology having been submitted in any of those recent equipment acquisitions. There has been plenty of opportunity to bid a product, if anyone actually has one to offer. PC |
