Saturday, April 5th

In Phoenicia, George Peck will lead a crew starting at 9:30am at Phoenicia Station doing track repairs and equipment maintenance.

In Kingston, Mark Glaser will be working in Cornell Street yard starting at 9:30am. He will be leading a crew replacing windows on the south side of the car, and doing trackwork to open the line for the season.


Sunday, April 6th

Ryan Lennox will lead a crew cutting brush starting at 10am Sunday at Hurley Mountain Road (MP 6) working west. Bring brush cutters, weed wackers, chain saws, and shovels for culvert/drainage maintenance.

Cornell Street will be open if requested. See Earl Pardini.

Saturday, April 5th

In Kingston on Saturday, 4 additional windows were installed in coach 2940 by a restoration crew led by Jim Bruck and included Rick Desir, Jesse Gabron, and Freddie Rasmussen. A track crew continued repairs west of Albany Ave. installing cribbing and a small stone retaining wall. A tie was added and part of the repair was tamped. Participating were: Dave Hilliard, John Marino, Bob Blake, Tom Whyte, John Patane, Tony Bochinno, Jesse Gabron, and Mark Glaser.

In Phoenicia, work continued on track near the station. The crew included George Peck, Art Vogel, Dave Hilliard, Dave Cenova and Neil Remsen.

At Mt. Tremper, Al Johnson did work on Coach 702.


Sunday, April 6th

Ryan Lennox led a crew clearing brush and trees from the ROW from MP 6 to MP 6.3. The crew included Billy Stewart, Chris Cole, George and Harrison Balduf, and Tyler Carelli. See our facebook page for photos.

John Patane worked in Cornell Street yard.

Saturday, April 12th

In Phoenicia, George Peck will lead a crew starting at 9:30am at Phoenicia Station doing track repairs and equipment maintenance.

Also in Phoenicia, Al Johnson will be working on flat car 35111 starting at 9:30am.

In Kingston, Mark Glaser will be working in Cornell Street yard starting at 9:30am. He will be doing trackwork to open the line for the season.

Also in Kingston, Jim Bruck will lead a crew completing the new window installation on the 2940 starting around 10am.


Sunday, April 13th

Cornell Street will open at 10am. Jim Bruck will be leading a crew finishing up work on the 2940, and a track crew will also be formed.

Saturday, April 12th

In Kingston on Saturday, repairs of two undercut areas west of Albany Ave. were completed. The track was inspected from Westbrook to Rte. 209. The LG was moved west of the 209 crossing. Today's crew included: Al Schoessow, John Patane, Tom Whyte, Jesse Gabron, Tyler Carelli, John Marino, and Mark Glaser.

Sunday, April 13th

On Sunday, a crew consisting of Al Schoessow, John Marino, and Mark Glaser repaired the tamper at Cornell St. and corrected elevation at the section adjacent to Plaza Parking Lot west end. Tyler Carelli and Alex Sorenson did a cleanup of the Westbrook Lane Station area and later joined the track crew.

Jim Bruck and John Marino completed work on the windows on coach 2940.

Thursday, April 17th

Al Schoessow and Mark Glaser will lead a crew doing cleanup of debris by Gill's Farm Crossing and across Rte. 209 where visible from roadway. We plan to pull spikes for tiework on Friday. Meet Cornell Street Yard at 9 am.


Friday, April 18th

Al Schoessow and Mark Glaser will lead a crew installing ties just west of Fair St. Meet Cornell St. 9 am -late arrivals go directly to work site.


Saturday, April 19th

In Phoenicia, George Peck will lead a crew starting at 9:30am at Phoenicia Station doing track repairs and equipment maintenance. They will insert ties near the section house.

In Kingston, Mark Glaser will be working in Cornell Street yard starting at 9:30am. Plans are to get the train ready for our 1pm Easter Egg Hunt Train.

Thursday, April 17th

On Thursday 4-17, a maintenance crew consisting of Al Schoessow, Tyler Carelli, and Mark Glaser removed debris from the ROW. Walt Otto completed the ramp between the coach and flatcar at Cornell St.


Friday, April 18th

On Friday 4-18, crews inserted and spiked 7 ties on the fill just east of the Dutch Village. Assisting were: Al Schoessow,Tom Whyte,John Marino,Tyler Carelli,and Mark Glaser.


Saturday, April 19th

The CMRR ran its first Easter Egg Special on Saturday. Engineer was Earl Pardini, Conductor was Ray Farrell, flagmen were Mark Glaser, John Marino, Fred Rasmussen, and Tyler Carelli. Walt Otto was brakeman. Pat Smalley and Jim Bruck were car attendants, and George Bain, Alex Sorenson and Jan Harrison helped at the Easter Egg site. Trains were well attended.

On Saturday morning in Kingston, crews pulled spikes and plates from 45 ties starting at the Hurley Mountain Road crossing and proceeding east. 36 additional ties were marked for replacement. The track was inspected to MP 6.1. Today's crew: Al Schoessow, Rick Desir, Tom Whyte, and Mark Glaser.

At 209, Dave Cenova and Jim Bruck worked on coach 703.

In Phoenicia, George Peck, Art Vogel, and Neil Remsen worked on the broom, and inserted 18 ties near the section house.

In Mt. Tremper, Al Johnson and Bill Kaba applied lettering to the 702 and re-installed clerestory windows.

On Friday, George Peck inserted 29 ties from the east switch to farmer's crossing near Phoenicia.


Saturday, April 26th

On Saturday in Phoenicia, George Peck, Art Vogel, Tyler Carelli and Dave Heick inserted 37 ties from the east switch to Farmer's Crossing.

Neil Remsen worked on the broom.

In Kingston on Saturday Mark Glaser led a crew: Al Schoessow, Tom Whyte, John Marino, and Peter Fluchere . They tamped from Westbrook Lane approximately half way to Fair St. Peter Fluchere cleaned the ROW in the same area. At Cornell St., Earl Pardini completed backhoe repairs and attached the thumb to the JD 410.

Sunday, April 27th

On Sunday, Al Schoessow led a crew tamping to Fair St. consisting of John Marino, Rick Desir, Jesse Gabron and Tyler Carelli. Later in the day, Mark Glaser and Jesse Gabron did bolt and joint work on the same section.

At 209, George Bain worked on car 1198.

John Patane plans to lead a small crew inserting ties near Hurley Mountain Road.

In Shokan, Todd Syska, Ryan Lennox and I will lead a crew clearing the line west and running the sickle bar, starting at 10am.

In Kingston, Mark Glaser will be working in Cornell Street yard starting at 9:30am. Plans are to do track work on the main operating section in Kingston, then move to Hurley Mountain Road.

Our Mother's day train will be running from 1 to 4pm.

Friday, May 9th

In Kingston on Friday,Al Schoessow and Mark Glaser cut brush from Downs St. to I-587. Later,they cut grass and did a general cleanup of the Westbrook Lane Station.


Saturday, May 10th

On Saturday in Phoenicia, George Peck, and Art Vogel worked on the tamper and inserted 19 ties from the east switch to Farmer's Crossing. Neil Remsen worked on the Broom.

At Mt. Tremper, Al Johnson and Bill Kaba installed 7 clearstory windows in the 701. Now all are installed on the roadside and the coach looks great!

At Shokan, Todd Syska led a crew consisting of Bruce Devorkin, Ryan Lennox, and myself. We sickle bar cut from Shokan four miles west to the reservoir.

JP led a crew consisting of John Marino and Mark Glaser and inserted 32 ties east of the CMRR Hurley Mtn. Rd. crossing. Al Schoessow conducted brakeman training at Cornell St. and assisted with the passenger train.

At Mt. Tremper, George Bain will lead a crew starting around 9:30am to get the Mt. Tremper area ready for opening day. Please also bring brush cutting and week wacking tools to make the station area look good for opening day.

In Kingston, Mark Glaser will be working in Cornell Street yard starting at 9:30am. Plans are to do track work at Hurley Mountain Road.



Sunday, May 18th

Al Schoessow will lead a track crew working out of Cornell Street yard. The yard will open at 9:30am.

We may also have a crew installing additional seats in the 2940.

On Saturday in Phoenicia, George Peck and Art Vogel inspected track east of Mt. Tremper and made repairs.

At Mt. Tremper, Peter Fluchere and George Bain cleaned the station and the surrounding area.

Dave Cenova worked on Coach 703 and removed all the seats on the north side. Tony Bocchino and I finished removing nuts from the seat pedestals on the south side.

In Kingston on Saturday, Al Schoessow and Walt Otto did general car and equipment repair at Cornell Street. Jim Bruck worked on the new seats for the 2940.

A track crew working east from Hurley Mountain Road plated and spiked 25 ties. Participating were Tom Whyte, John Marino, Bob Blake, Russ Hallock, Rick Desir, and Mark Glaser.


Sunday, May 18th

On Sunday in Kingston, Al Schoessow, John Prestopino and Jim Bruck worked on equipment and the 2940 at Cornell St. Track work at Hurley Mountain Road continued, 15 ties were inserted, plates pulled on approximately 30 ties. Ties were marked for changeout to within 3 rail lengths of the former cattle pass, and the ROW was recut with a string trimmer. Backhoe maintenance was done. Today's crew: JP, Tom Whyte, John Marino, and Mark Glaser.

On Friday Mark Glaser will lead a crew doing trackwork in Kingston starting at Cornell Street at 11am.


Saturday, May 24th

On Saturday we will be running in Mt. Tremper and in Kingston.

In Phoenicia, George Peck will lead a crew starting at 9:30am at Mt. Tremper getting the train ready for departure and other maintenance work.

On Saturday Neil Remsen will be running a crew to wire brush the flat car in Phoenicia. The plan is to remove the rust and paint to help make it easier to work on. Everyone who wants to join Neil is asked to bring a wire brush, drill or grinder with a wire wheel, scrapers, safety glasses, proper work clothes, foot wear and any other safety gear. Neil will be starting at 10:00.

In Kingston, Mark Glaser will be working in Cornell Street yard starting at 9:30am. Plans are to do track work at Hurley Mountain Road.

At 209, Dave Cenova will lead a crew working on coach 703 starting at 9am. Plans are to continue removing seats from the interior in preparation for priming.


Sunday, May 25th

There will be a track crew working out of Cornell Street yard. The yard will open at 9:30am.

We will be running in Mt. Tremper only on Sunday.


Monday, May 26th

On Monday we will be running at Mt. Tremper only.

Saturday, May 24th

On Saturday in Phoenicia, train crew was Walt Otto, engineer, Dan Howard, Conductor, Bill Kaba, brakeman, and Russ Hallock was ticket agent. Train was assisted by George Peck, Joe Michaels, Harrison Balduf and Jarrett May.

At Longyear siding, Al Johnson and Neil Remsen worked on the Duck.

In Kingston, Al Schoessow was engineer, Ray Farrell was conductor, John Marino and Fred Rasmussen were flaggers. Dave Hilliard was brakeman. Ken Darmstadt was ticket agent.

On Saturday, crews continued work at Hurley Mountain Rd. 16 ties were inserted and 21 plated and spiked. The track was weed wacked east to the washout. The backhoe cleared brush from the north and south shoulder. Working today were John Patane,Rick Desir,Tom Whyte,and Mark Glaser.

Sunday, May 25th

Sunday, in Kingston crews continued working east from CR-5,3 ties were installed,6 plated and spiked, OTM was pulled to the Farm Crossing. The backhoe cleared considerable brush from trackside east to same opening a staging area at the crossing. Today's crew; JP, Tom Whyte, and Mark Glaser. Later in the day,track work in Kingston was done.

in Mt. Tremper, Al Schoessow was engineer, John Prestopino was Conductor, Neil Remsen was brakeman, Tyler Carelli was trainman, Harrison Balduf was car attendant, and Bruce Devorkin was ticket agent.
