I know some of these pictures have been seen here in the past. I think there are some new ones here. What's the story on the Boston trolleys?

The Boston PCCs pictured are property of Vintage Electric Streetcar Co. at Windber, PA. They've been there about 10-15 years. There were a total of 56 PCCs from various cities stored here, a few have been scrapped recently.

Does anyone know how to get in touch with the owner? I'd prefer not to have the dogs run me off if I make a visit.

Thx

Chris

Although you see sites like this all over the internet, sometimes they can be really quite interesting. I found the Dupont Circle one to be particularly so. I've lived in DC for the past ten years and had never even remotely considered the possibility of their being a full scale trolley station and roundabout directly under Dupont Circle! As they say, you learn something new every day! I think that I'll use the fact that I live in NW and rarely travel to that part of DC as my excuse.

Thanks for sharing,

/Andrew

I wish i could see all this but i don't live near them except Cleveland. I do wish that NO&TL would left a mark or two in Akron or my hometown Wadsworth OH.

TROLLEY CAR GRAVEYARD WINDBER, PA

This is a link for the location of the trolley cars. (It is NOT the owner's location.)

19th St, Windber, PA 15963. http://goo.gl/maps/UBwNf

If you expand the satellite map, you can see the buildings and the trolley cars lined up in font of the buildings and on into the woods behind the buildings.

Note: From a local post about the Windber site: ".... it does have a no trespassing sign and a metal gate across the road, so I like to advise everyone never go on without permission."

Note: From another local post about the Windber site: " ... contacted this guy. He does not want people going there, accident etc. ... it would be overrun by some who think it it is funny to do whatever they think about ..."

For this reason, I have pulled the written directions to the site. The map and public information (which has already been published and readily available elsewhere) I am leaving. It is easy enough to research and map out directions to the location on your own, if you so wish. I strongly advise getting the owner's permission before venturing on to the site.

(Note that the article mentions a live-in security guard at the site.)

Ok, for future info, was there something else published that you deleted? What I see there is a business listing (Manta is purely a business reference, not a "white pages"). It's an incorporated company. I don't consider that to be personal information. Is posting business information unacceptable, or just personal info?

As I said, maybe you edited it to remove some additional info.
