After careful consideration, the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railroad has decided to re-schedule its SteamFest event from May 17th to Saturday, July 19, 2014. This change of date will allow MRSR to incorporate a Grand Opening celebration of its new logging museum, showcasing the completion of Phase I and the construction of Phase II. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused those who had purchased tickets for the May 17th event. For more information, please contact our Director of Sales & Marketing at sales@mrsr.org.

That muffled scream you heard off in the distance was me.
You can't imagine how much work it was to secure the original date off from work...
Oh well, at least you didn't move it to a date that conflicted with anything else.

I'm another one who has had to change travel plans...am curious, I don't see mention of the 6 locomotive steam up on the new date. Is this still on the agenda or have there been more changes?

When I called one of the larger local motels to cancel and then explained why, the lady remarked that this was the first that she had heard about it and wished that she had been notified that the event was having its date changed.

Tom,

The July event will not have six steam locomotives in operation as the privately-owned Santa Cruz Portland Cement 0-4-0T #2 will not be on the property.

So, is there anything else going on there on May 17th?
