Cascade Rail Foundation needs a few more volunteers at the Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola, CA the week of June 9 to help us finish preparing MILW 5057 (a GE U25B) for movement by rail north. Tasks include finishing brake repairs and welding metal bars across the hood to secure the doors.

We can arrange lodging at the museum through at least Thursday, June 12, and hope to be done with the work by then. Volunteers not already active members of the Feather River Rail Society (our host) will be made members to participate in this work party. We can provide hard hats and safety glasses or you can bring your own if you have them.

If you’re interested, please contact me at kruegerp@nwlink.com.

Thanks,
Paul

I just want to clarify that even a day or two of assistance would be helpful.

Thanks,
Paul
