I just bought a VHS copy of the Beatles movie "Help" and during the "Ticket To Ride" video sgement appears a small, green industrial locomotive. Being a Whitcomb locomotive researcher I was wondering if anyone can tell me where this was filmed and if that locomotive was a Whitcomb by any chance?

The unit appears about the 2:20 mark and lasts about 10 seconds.

A Google search turns up Austrian Alps but nothing on the engine:

A Google search of narrow gage locomotive Austrian Alps didn't help me.

Confirmed, Austrian Alps; locomotive is likely of European manufacture, but beyond that, I can't say much.

A photo of what appears to be a very similar locomotive is in the link below:

A lot of those small units looked very similar, from all sorts of builders around the world.

Shades of a GE 45-tonner:

More industrial power, this from a page on sugar roads in Fiji; the caption claims this to be a Baldwin:

I was reading something about the Beatles and the movie "Help!" last night and I remembered this inquiry. This should help: The railway is located in Obertauern, Austria. More info can be found on the Narrow Gauge Railroad Discussion Forum. http://ngdiscussion.net/phorum/read.php?1,275581,275683#msg-275683
