Post subject:  Springs for Baldwin RS-4-TC-A1

Mid-Continent's Baldwin ex-Army RS-4 broke two springs on the engineer's side of the rear truck back in June and has been out of service since. We removed the broken springs and one good one this week and have measured them to have new ones made. There are 8 springs per truck and they all should be replaced at the same time as the old ones are likely to break if they are not an exact match for the replacements. If anyone out there knows of a supply of springs for this locomotive, or knows of a supplier of these springs, please contact Mid-Continent ASAP. Anyone having a similar locomotive and is in need of springs should contact Mid-Continent to see if the spring dimensions match up. It would be nice to make up a larger order and perhaps reduce the cost.
