Work is continuing on the 7099 with hopes to have it ready for Santa trains starting in late November. Yesterday I received an email from fellow volunteer Larry Braun that read: "John [Stein], Al [Manus] and I worked inside the 7099. We removed the remaining inside panels and insulation. It was a lot of hammer and chisel work to cut the rivets. Then we cleaned the car."

Some exterior work has been done as well, mainly consisting of removing old paint and rust with angle grinders and a needle scaler and applying primer to the bare metal.

I should add that the WS has been interested in acquiring a combine version of a P54 but, other than one being used on Long Island as a chamber of commerce office, there may not be any left. If anyone knows of another one, please speak up.
