Quote:
After an apparently successful revival during the summer, the Santa Fe Southern Railway, which takes tourists from the downtown rail depot to the rural village of Lamy, has once again suspended operations.

Customers who have booked upcoming trips have received calls and messages in the last week informing them that operations have been canceled for the foreseeable future.

A message on the railway’s website says in large red letters: “Service has been Temporarily Suspended.”

Anyone know what is going on?

CNJ fans should be watching this closely. If SFS doesn't resume operations, combine #300 (aka "Halley" from The Blue Comet) would make a very enticing piece to repatriate to the Garden State.

Isn't this the railroad (maybe the freight part) that was part-owned by actor and former railroader Michael Gross (Family Ties)? Does anyone know if he is still involved in it?

Santa Fe Southern has not shut down. The tourist train, operated by another company on Santa Fe track, has shut down. Santa Fe Southern is still operating.
