Dear group,

Over the past 14 months I have been involved with a project for Conrail Shared Assets documenting the rebuilding of the Delair bridge, a vital link between their Southern NJ operations and parent companies NS and CSX. Over six - 72 hour scheduled outages more than 60 deck girder spans, timbers and track were replaced between November 2013 and September 2014. Myself and two other photographers were hired to provide a cohesive video and time lapse documentation of the entire operation.

Here is a link to four trailer clips we released this week in anticipation of an edit we will publish net week detailing all the highlights over the 14 month project. Enjoy, feel free to share and as always feedback is always welcome!

Very cool.

I have a real soft spot in my heart for the Delair, since it loomed large over the neighborhood I grew up in, and it was the location of some of my earliest railfanning with my dad.

We always just used to call it "the black bridge".

Ed, I had photographed this bridge once before with Conrail for my own documentation project of former PRR infastructure and really enjoyed being out there, especially during the warmer months. To be up on those lift towers was amazing, though it took a while to let the death grip of the handrail!

Hmm ... this explains why we haven't seen Mr. Levin on here for a while. Projects of this scope will keep one away from one's desk ...

Eric often visited the site during the outages, between this one and Paulsboro which basically started around the last outage in September, I'm sure the whole engineering office has been busy. Never mind the other capacity projects they have going on in the area which there are a couple of big ones in play.
