Regarding towing the ship, the hull is in excellent shape and it can be towed anywhere. If you can tow an aircraft carrier you can tow a sleek high speed liner. Regarding sinking it, most of the machinery is still on board.
The entire superstructure is aluminum and if sunk the salt water would devour it quickly creating a very dangerous dive destination as the superstructure would collapse into itself.
The hull would provide a many thousands of tons of high quality steel if scrapped, so why sink it?

If her hull is that good, they should take her down to Brownsville sooner than later. Don’t wait for her to become a salvage operation. That being said, I’d love to see her luck change for the better.
