Back to the original point of this thread, I couldn't find the funding page for this project. Is it dead or what is the current status?

Yes, it's dead pardon me I forgot to inform RYPN members. The Galveston Railroad Museum had expressed interest in retaining the locomotive and that was the end of that. Honestly fundraising hadn't gone very far to begin with and many individuals were reluctant to start a non profit. Galveston will be conducting their very own restoration of #505 instead. This thread however can continue to serve as a discussion board for any news regarding Fairbanks Morse products, locomotives and history.
