Two questions:
1) what was the General Electric Motor Model number that EMD purchase the patent on?
2) EMD 3950 section 7 last page talks about a bearing run test. is this for only the final motor ; and is there an EMD MI that covers the completed motor ,wheel and axle assembly to be tested for seating the Babbitt support bearings. Some shops do this and call it a "Spike Test".
I have seen this being performed on You Tube at some locomotive shop using a power supply similar to the paragraph in EMD 3950-7 page 16.
If General Electric has a procedure for the GE 752 motor, that would be fine.
I did find an Engineering Standard published by the Austrailian Rail Corp. ESR 0242 covering the GE 761 and 731 . The GE 731 was used on ALCO locomotives before the 752 became standard.
