Car is located by the ex-GM&O depot, now a restaurant and offices. After use as demonstrator in 1925 the car was sold to the Columbus & Greenville same number, their first railcar. Became Louisiana & Northwest M-300, retired and sold to private owner who kept it on a farm near Haynesville, LA. Recently sold to the owners of the Covington depot. Information from Louis Saillard IV.

Where they apparently got it from:

It looks like a nice save, but I'm wondering where they're putting it--there's a rail trail running between the station and the brewpub next door, and there hardly seems to be room to park that downtown. Though there's this trailhead: http://www.tammanytrace.org/index.php/p ... -trailhead

Thread drift: Two IC passenger/baggage cars nearby: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPi ... id=1708304

The two IC cars at Abita Springs were sold to IPH long ago and now are stored in Colorado. It happened...maybe 2 (or more) years ago.

Update via one of those two-minutes-to-write-without-ever-visiting-the-place overwrought (and often erroneous) articles from a website known for such rubbish, but they pull together photos inside and out from Google Maps and Facebook, so......
