Yes, I've moved a few streetcars and interurbans both on the cheap and full blown cranes and transfer company. I just do not have the desire or time to go to a state where I have no local knowledge to help someone. I'm hoping to pass him to a referral, but before that happens he has to get permission to take the car, so that's why I'm asking if anyone has heard anything else.

I just spoke with the owner on the phone about 30 minutes ago. Apparently there has been a very large response to the ad, so things may be looking up for this car. I'll keep in contact with this topic as things progress.

If anyone has experience moving rail cars around the WA area inexpensively, please let me know. We have had our eye on a freight car or two, but the cost of transport keeps those ideas on the back burner.

I just learned that the property the car sits on has been sold to a developer. Country Village no longer owns the land, and all the other buildings on the same parcel of land have already been demolished. Time is short, it would seem.

At the risk of being called a "Pollyanna", consider inquiring if the developer would care to contribute the move as a matter of preservation and for some positive publicity.

Pardon the Resurrection of an OLD THREAD, but here's an update on this car. In short, the up-and-coming Peninsular Railway & Lumbermens Museum in Shelton, WA has been offered the car on the condition that they remove the car.
